Postdoctoral Researcher in Computer Vision and Machine Learning

A postdoc position at the intersection of Machine Learning, Computer Vision and Human-Computer Interaction is available with the group of Christopher Rozell at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, GA).  We are looking for a highly motivated and creative individual who enjoys working in an exciting interdisciplinary research environment. The research project centers around tasks that are specified through interactive communication with a human user (e.g., semantic descriptions of a desired object).  Key technical elements of the work are likely to include learning visual attributes and manifold modeling of image transformations.  Applicants should hold a PhD in a related discipline with a strong research record. Experience in areas such as visual attributes, manifold models and zero-shot recognition are desired.
The position has significant flexibility and the lab is committed to the professional development of the members, making it valuable preparation for people who are interested in academic, industrial or entrepreneurial careers.  The position has no mandatory teaching or administrative duties, but the successful candidate will take an active role in mentoring students and further developing the research program. Excellent (written and oral) communication skills in English are required.  The start date is flexible but ideally would be as soon as possible.  The position is initially for 12 months with the possibility of renewal. Compensation will be commensurate with relevant experience.
